Go on. Swipe freely. Bank of America retracts debit card fee.

Even sooner than I expected,  Bank of America today nixed its plan to charge customers $5 a month to shop with their debit card.

Prudent, considering the backlash, and the bank’s competitors taking full advantage of the negative reaction.

B of A says it listened to its customers.

It wasn’t difficult. They shouted, loud and clear.

The consumer always gets the last word.

Told you so (and I gloat only because it doesn’t happen all that often). See the post below this one.

Now, about those peanut butter prices…

  1. I don’t believe they gave up their $5.00 fee. Oh, they won’t call it that, and it won’t affect your debit card, but they will find ways to add a wee fee here, a teensy fee there, and nickel and dime your account until they have made up the $5.00 fee and then some. But, then, where banks are concerned, I see the glass as half empty.

What are you thinking?
